Road Traffic Law review from 5 stars

The firm represented the first accused sentenced on indictment for a “coronavirus offence” in Scotland, possibly the UK.

Iain Mark Lindsay was sentenced to 4 months in custody reduced from a headline sentence of 6 months earlier this year. The sentence was deemed to be unduly lenient, after a Crown Appeal, and the Appeal court increased the sentence to one of 15 months imprisonment reduced to 10 months after discounting for an early plea. This was the case that set the benchmark for all future sentences imposed in cases of this type. It is unusually an example of getting “too good” a result for your client.
